Villa Group Tip: Mezcal v.s Tequila

Did you know, all tequilas are mezcal’s, but not all mezcal’s are tequilas? While both tequila and mezcal are made from the harvested core of the agave plant, otherwise known as the “piña,” they are often produced in different regions of Mexico and are distilled differently, giving them each their own distinct flavors. See the chart below for a better understanding of the two delicious spirits and be sure to sample each of them the next time you vacation with us!

Our staff and many of our guests raved about these recipes, and we hope you enjoy them too. Let us know if you try them! We look forward to the time when we can reunite at our resorts and create more extraordinary memories. 3. We were at the Villa de Palmar, Cancun in December of 2021, we attended a Christmas celebration just outside of the lobby. They provided a hot adult beverage that was milk based with some alcohol- what was it?

    1. Hi Miguel,

We have many drink options that have a milk base. It may have been called coquito, which is a variation of an eggnog. Click here for a recipe.

Otherwise, there is Rompope. Click here for recipe. Or, it could have simply been Horchata with or without alcohol.

Hope this helps solve the mystery!

  4. My husband and I had green juice at our resort there, I believe we stayed at Casa Del Mar. We felt so good after drinking it. Had lots of energy and just felt like we were 10 yrs younger. What was in that that makes u feel so healthy?
