This means that each of our resorts have gone above and beyond in researching the best preventative measures and sanitizing protocols prior to reopening. As visitors will confirm, our staff has successfully implemented these practices and we continue doing everything possible to keep guests and their families safe.
Member Sharon Pagoria and her family recently traveled to Villa La Estancia Riviera Nayarit following the government-mandated shutdowns that took place across the world. Below she shares a brief recap of her extraordinary experience.
“We were invited to attend a wedding in September for two friends of ours, one an employee at one of the resorts in Mexico and one was a former dancer who lives in the United Kingdom. So off we call ResortCom to make our reservations earlier this year. Lucille Wooldridge was the person I was connected with. I explained what we wanted to do with our contract and pulling off the end etc. She was kind, patient, and would keep checking with her supervisor and went over everything several times so we could make sure we were both on the same page. We actually laughed a lot and talked about the area as she had never been to Puerto Vallarta but was planning to go.
So reservations made, met someone who really cared about members and all ok…ready to go. OH NO COVID- 19 strikes the World! Wedding postponed! Now what to do? Tony (my husband) going through difficult Cancer treatments, everything was shut down in the United States and Mexico. Let’s wait a minute and breathe. Come July, we keep discussing whether to cancel completely or still go. We decided to change our reservations and go. We called back to ResortCom and found out that there was a great promotion going on. Again, I was lucky enough to speak with Lucille who took care of everything. New reservations were made and points were in the bank! We even ask our son Benjamin to go with us for his birthday.
Our Travel Experience: The airport was very empty. They took our temperature upon boarding the plane. Everyone wore face masks; we wiped down the seat, the seatbelt, the tray table, and everything around us. We used sanitizer. Flight attendants passed out goodie bags at the beginning of our flights. Tremendous care was taken and everything was sanitized effectively by everyone.
Our Arrival in Puerto Vallarta: We completed a Covid-19 screening form. They took our temperature upon our arrival in the country. They sprayed down the suitcases and made masks mandatory for everyone. Social distancing was practiced and sanitizer was provided throughout the airport. Also, sanitizing mats for everyone’s shoes were available.
Arrival at Villa La Estancia: Temperatures were taken at the gate, luggage was sanitized outside of the lobby, and hand sanitizer was provided upon entering the lobby. Inside the lobby, we met with Lucy and Bertha and they wiped off desks and chairs before and after speaking with us. The bellmen wore gloves and constantly sanitized everything. Everyone in the resort wears a mask and some wear a shield in addition to the mask.
Sanitizing During Our Stay: We were provided hand sanitizer and wipes in the room. The maids wiped down everything every day. They also changed towels, even when not needed, sometimes 2 times per day. Staff come in and wipe off remotes and phones several times per week. Masks are worn everywhere. They even take temps at restaurants and grocery stores! Tables, lounge chairs, and elevators are constantly sanitized.
Our Experience During Our Stay: We were at Villa LaEstancia for 3 weeks which was phenomenal. It was great seeing some of the staff that we have known for many years. The first week was very quiet. The staff had been so excited to welcome us all back. Please tip well. They are all working harder than ever to make our stay the best it has ever been. It was extremely nice to just relax, soak up the sun, and visit with friends and their families. LaCasona and the pool bar and the restaurant by the pool were all open. The pool bartenders and servers were so happy and smiley and eager to please.
In conclusion, there is so much more to tell but let us suffice to say we cannot wait to be back at our second home. Truly, I know many people feel this way but please believe us when we say this is our home away from home and when the staff says it to you they truly mean it as well.
