Happenings at Villa del Palmar Cancun

During my last trip to Cancun I spent a lot of time at the resort participating in all of the daily activities. I found myself constantly enjoying the pristine Caribbean views lined with palm trees as I indulged in constant dosages of Vitamin D. Please read along for my favorite activities that I participated in during this trip.

The awesome bell boy crew always waiting to welcome you back to your home away from home!

Beach Time

With the waves lapping in the background, the wind gently blowing and the sun shining down on me I enjoyed a calm walk on the beach looking out at the pristine ocean and Isla Mujeres, located directly across from the resort.  Walking on the beach here is my favorite past time as it is the perfect way for me to clear my mind and enjoy the beauty of this tropical location. As an added bonus, the Swing Bar is located directly on the beach so you can savor your favorite cocktail as you take in the beauty that surrounds you. Below is a photo of my favorite drink, a pina colada, which is my go-to in this tropical setting.

Live Music

Every evening there is live entertainment at one of the restaurants onsite. During my trip, I became a fan of the ZAK Lounge, which is a lounge area located directly above the beach where you can order cocktails. I appreciated the added touch of live music in this paradise setting as it was the perfect way to unwind and enjoy the ambiance.

Massage at the Beach

This is a must-do activity in my book! I received a signature massage in a completely private cabana by the beach, which was the perfect compliment to the faint sound of waves lapping in the background.  The massage was customized for me, focusing primarily on my upper back and shoulders. After an hour of this pampering I was completely relaxed.

Pool Volleyball

Meet new friends as you challenge other members and guests in a volleyball match. You will have fun staying cool in the pool while getting some exercise. Offered Tuesday’s and Friday’s at 2 pm.

Water Aerobics

Maintain your fitness goals with this low impact activity that is a fun way to exercise while on vacation. Get your groove on to high-energy music, take in your daily dosage of Vitamin D, and meet a few new friends all while benefiting your health. Offered daily at noon.

Yoga

I enjoyed the perfect setting to start my day in this yoga class offered on the pier every morning.  I liked being able to gently awaken my body with stretches, poses, and breathing exercises as I heard the waves lapping upon the sand in the background. After the class, I walked up to Capricho’s for breakfast as I continued to take in views of the beautiful Carribean. Offered daily at 9 am.

Cooking Class

I learned how to make ceviche with the chefs at Davino and was able to eat my tasty creation for lunch after this class. Below is the ceviche I made paired with saltine crackers. Please ask your concierge for days and times that this is offered.

Below is a photo of me with the Food and  Beverage team onsite during my cooking class.

My visit to Cancun was a relaxing experience filled with many fun activities. The resort staff does a wonderful job at keeping all members and guests engaged in activities that fit their interests. If you want to relax and enjoy the beautiful Caribbean views, Cancun is the perfect destination to do so.

If you have a vacation experience that you would like to share with us, please respond in the comments section below this blog or email it to me at bblanscet@myuvci.com.
